I decided to call this picture 'cosmic egg'.
Not sure if that's my shoelace or the camera strap. I did it last year and I couldn't get my head round it. It seems the whole image is about getting some kind of balance right.
I finally got around to starting a picture of Loch Lomond for a friend last night.
Took a picture of it this morning, then another one later this afternoon. Just getting the grey scale right to start with.
I haven't done much to this today ( I did a bit last night)
It's in oils, so It needs to dry a bit between fiddling with it. It's good because I can mull it over before it dries. Poppy oil speeds up the drying time, but i can always re-work it with some real turpentine. The picture looks a bit off because i accidentally smoked some dried mint leaves today.
