We we buy most of our local veg like this, especially hand dug Jersey Royals, fresh from the ground each morning during the season. Strawberries, courgettes and lovely sandy carrots. I can't imagine my life without this happening.
Worldwide there is a lack of honesty, yes small places like the Channel Islands have this precious gift. We trust that people will be honest... Still, even though sometimes they are not. It is better to trust that generally people are trustworthy, than live fearing that people are not to be trusted and that they will do harm to you.
I can't help but look at the news and see how untrusting, and indeed how untrustworthy the wider world has become.
Perhaps untrustworthy is the wrong word. I think it is more a predictable dishonesty, from our politicians, huge companies, and those who have the potential to change the world for the better.
Those who have the power to make decisions for the good of humanity, yet take actions that only serve the shareholders and stakeholders of these superpowers.
I have been heartsore for Syria. I have tried to glean as much news of the ceasefire as I can. It seems though that all the groups of fighters that are fighting each other in a proxy war, just can't trust each other.
The USA have subsidised these groups, and so have other countries around Syria. No one really knows who is fighting whom, and if indeed they are under direction from the people finding them. It seems not?
With so much at stake for everyone who lives on this planet, I wonder if we could all start trading in honesty. What is good, trustworthy, of benefit to others, our real sentiments and hopes.
This is the place to start doing business, or negotiating truces and peace.
There will always be people who are dishonest. They are predictably dishonest. That doesn't mean we ourselves have to be dishonest, or misrepresent ourselves. There is no power in the world that can overcome real love. Love always hopes, always trusts, and is steadfast until the end of days. (My paraphrase).
May everyone discover their heart, and sense of forgiveness towards others, and lay down weapons and talk through the problems and do something to fix them.
