I think we all ought to lighten up a bit for 2018. We have all had to suffer endless bad news and hysteria from the US over Korea and Russia. Not to mention the Cat getting into the picture over the Israeli embassy and Jerusalem declaration by POTUS.
A lot of good things have happened this year too. At least the UN said they didn't agree, which is a start.
I do feel worried for everywhere under sanctions and blockades that are causing real humanitarian suffering.
We are recognising how bad the plastic in oceans has become, and even considerg how to avert problems before they begin.
I think the comman person is beginning to get a voice again. We have been silenced for too long.
My thoughts turn to the New year Celebrations. We have invited some friends round tomorrow afternoon. I felt God wanted me to lead a little family worship with them and their Children, which I must prepare. They are only very young, so I am going to ask them what things they think they will make as new year resolutions.
Then I am going to say that the special resolution we can make this New Years Eve is to find Jesus in our lives every day for 2018. That for a Christian following Jesus every day is like a New Year's Day when we can leave the past behind us, and choose to live more like Him, and follow his teachings.
This makes us better people, who can forgive others and bring the Joy and Happiness into the world that Father God loves to see. We can see people who need our help in new ways, and find new ways to help other people.
Its a challenge talking to Children about Jesus, I hope it's a good message for them... and anyone who happens to read this too.
God bless you in Jesus Christ, and may you have a wonderful New Year every day in 2018.
