Anyway I asked the cleaners to use my own products and happened to have a litre of vodka in the drawer. At the time I said nothing, but the cleaner rolled her eyes as if to say she had seen my secret under the sink stash as an alcoholic!
I did t tell her I used it for cleaning! She only found out when I refilled her window spray with white vinegar, a shot of vodka and some water. It does a great job on glass to polish it with a piece of newspaper.
Anyway I put some Vodka in a small spray bottle with a few drops of wild Greek oregano, T Tree and Lavender. I don’t have rosemary oil at the moment or I would add that too. Anyway I use this on worktops after preparing meat. I just wash the worktop, then spray this on and let it dry to leave the essential oil film as a general antibacterial. I don’t like to use industrial alcohol on surfaces I prepare food on. Also I can’t stand the perfume put in rubbing alcohol.
Anyway I called a halt to the cleaners, they kept leaving the front door open and it would only be a matter of time before the dog escaped and attack the neighbours cat. She is not frightened of them at all, this Patterdale breed sees cats as vermin. Slightly larger than a rat, and can fight back, which makes them even more good fun to get hold of and give a good seeing to!
So Anyway, I decided to give this mixture a go as an alternative to underarm spray. All the above oils, with just neat vodka in a little glass vinegar spray for the table. It’s brilliant! Also if I need to sterilise something quickly like a cut, it’s dead handy to spray on.
So it’s a general deodorant and a medicine chest substitute too. Less stuff to buy and keep in the house. I am trying to reduce the number of cleaning products for different jobs.
Ho hum, I suppose this must be the most boring stuff to read, but it keeps me occupied!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and Blessed Easter. I notice so many countries that are Orthodox Christian predominantly, places that have Icons, are getting this Sahara gold dusting! Gold in Icons symbolises the presence, or Light of God. He must be making a point! I think the Russians and Greeks need cheering up, they have got such a lot of shit being thrown at them right now. I wonder what else could lift their spirits. They have had some very tragic events.
I hope they get something spectacularily lovely to cheer them up. Rainbows are always a good sign!
They need something they can keep though, something that can be put on display and represent God’s presence with all the worshippers.
Bless you if you have read this. May you be overwhelmed with a sense of peace and rest in God’s love. Sleep well, good sleep is a gift.
