Besides now being invaded with bindweed over the last couple of years through neglect, (I was 'off' gardening having cracked through my sacral bone... painful!) I now have to try to restore this patch of ground. I notice the bindweed roots have got into the grass as well, so I will have to try coax them into growing into a plastic bottle too! I do like this idea, it apeals to my sense of getting to the root of a problem.
However, I unearthed this ghastly thick plastic sack full of soot. Well once I realised what it was, I decided to call it a day yesterday and decide what to do with it. At first I thought I might just leave it there, and cover it over, then I thought about all those toxins in my soil, and that this sack must have been there at least 30 years and shown no sign of deteriorating.
My plan is to dig the whole lot out very carefully today. Although now postponed until tomorrow, having got totally sidetracked this morning into a snake pit of problems with a phone call from someone. I think I made it back out alive...
Anyway, this sack of nasty black soot nestling among a bindweed infestation that looks like spaghetti junction was enough to give me wierd dreams last night.
There was an allusion in my dream to how there is 'black box' trading done on the side of every stock market. That millions of pounds of trading is done electronically alongside the actual trading done by real people. That this is one of the major causes for economic instabililty. I think that this practice ought to be 'dug out' and stopped. This is no longer speculation but massive fraud.
No one is gaining by this happening. It is like billions of pounds being sucked into a black hole every time there are fluctuations in 'real' stock markets. Who gets this money, where does it go?
How can it be spent? Taking money like this benefits no-one. In the end does it matter how much money anyone has? Having a super yacht isn't much fun if there is no one who will crew it for you. Having a huge home no fun if you can't get anyone to work for you because you made your money unfairly ripping off poor people on the stock exchange.
The prophecys about the 'end times' in the Bible speak of 'the poor inheriting the Earth'. I am wondering how I can disentangle myself from this kind of financial bindweed society we live in.
Definately the grow my own, and recycle every scrap of everything I can. Not spending money is a passion of mine! I worked out how to not spend a lot more money yesterday.
Within about two months I think I should be able to axe a further £300-£500 in annual bank expenses. That's money I have already paid tax on as well. I just decided I didn't really need my credit cards, or a paid for bank account that I don't actually use the 'benefits' I am supposed to get with it. I am just going to shut them down as I don't need to use them, then I don't need the identity protection cover for the cards that costs £6.99 per month, or the scabby payment protection that adds up. Or the £12 fee to be sent a bank statement every month.
I can manage with one debit card, and a chequebook, and some cash now and again. Yipee...!
