As merely an observer, this kind of thing usually happens due to regime change. It must be awful to live in a country that has finally been diagnosed with Schitzophrenic Paranoia by the rest of the world.
I suspect Russia has decided not to respond to this most recent affront to their sovereignty in closing and searching the San Fransisco consulate and trade missions until after the BRICS summit is over.
It is unimaginable, but I think we all have to treat the US as though they need to be handled as a high safety patient in a mental ward. Very carefully by very experienced people.
I did think this morning the US has also developed a terminal case of gingivitis. They may look armed to the teeth right now, but with the amount of rot they have in their society those teeth are going to be dropping out of their mouth before long. What happens if they can't pay their military?
I noticed that Lincoln's Memorial got spray painted a while back. Rather than see this as a random act of vandalism, I think it probably amounts to a general growing protest by the people of America. They must live in fear.
I actually had a mental image this morning of the Lincoln statue cracked from top to bottom. Perhaps its just a mental image of how the Republicans and Democrats have fought so hard to suppress Trump, that the symbol of Presidency itself has broken.
It was charming to see a very old carousel for small children in town yesterday. This one has been electrically powered, but before then it would have worked with the wheel the operater turned. I stopped for a moment to watch just three children being given a ride. I am sure it was parental nostalgia!
It made me think that the man turning the wheel for the benefit of appearances was rather like the whole circus ride the US presents to the world. If this little analogy were true, then very few countries are queing up to take a ride on their merry-go-round any longer. It was a very expensive ride.
The interesting thing is that North Korea is right, they do need to have a deterrent. The US invaded Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and so many other places because they couldn't fight back. This is Nuclear brinksmanship, and the US should not be even playing the game. I am sure China and Russia would wade in if North Korea was attacked. This means the US are trying to start a major war. I wonder if the actual military on the ground would follow orders? Would there actually be a military coup in America to avert this war no one would win?
I think North Korea could do with some food aid. They need to be shown more respect. Can anyone on England imagine Scotland holding full blown war drills, and then practicing bombing runs over the North Sea?
I don't think the US have ever backed down, and learned to negotiate without threatening. Perhaps this could be a First.
