I am always saying to my Husband water in plastic bottles is a con. I drink tap water. I don’t even have to filter it. This is my solution. I leave the top off this container for an hour to allow the chlorine to evaporate. If the spring mechanism is fitted to the top, you can’t get the water out of it. I just took the spring off and use the glass lid by itself.
My kitchen is an acrylic finish. A lovely delicate blue, and a shiny, easy wipe surface. The handles are plastic too. Much nicer than the boring metal bar handles. This is a top of the range Wickes kitchen. I just fell in love with it. They do this kitchen in a white as well. Some friends of ours are thinking of getting it in white.
The surface is a very good laminate from Duropal. I haven’t decided yet if I want glass backsplashes. This was my original plan, but the Portuguese paint is so very wipe able, and I like the contrast of the Matt on the walls, I would rather not put the glass in. If the paint needs a refresh in a while, I can give the paintwork a good wash and put another coat of paint on it! My Husband keeps pestering for glass, but I think it will make the kitchen too echo -y. I am very sensitive to noise.
Anyway I was thinking this morning that the flimsy plastic tap on this Kilner Jar would be better in copper. It’s a natural antiseptic. Copper woven into fabrics, and copper door handles stop the spread of MRSA. That’s why money is better made From Copper! However there isn’t much copper in our pennies these days! At least money has an intrinsic value when it’s made from copper. Bring back copper and ceramic pipe work too. It’s ridiculous putting drinking water in plastic piping.
My Husband caught me thanking this water this morning. You can see the sound waves passing through it. It told me I made it feel all squidgy. When I went to draw some water for the dog in her blue bowl, it spat out all the white stuff first. I had to draw two bowls to get clear water. He said there was no hope for me, I am a complete nut case!
I often think Whale song in the Seas and Oceans is to clean the water. Whale song travels for thousands of miles. The Japanese have proven that praying over water changes the way ice crystals form. They make gorgeous patterns after being prayed over. It’s the sound waves passing through the water that makes it form beautiful patterns. You only have to put sand on top of a speaker to see it change patterns when different sound vibrations pass through it. The sounds of nature, birdsong, animals calling, all clean the air. So does singing, when we sing to our environment.
I have been edging all the little squares I made out of the old towels. It just occurred to me that I could use these squares instead of toilet paper at home. Less unnecessary stuff going down the toilet. Just dump them in a little bucket of the same sort of stuff for babies nappies... well I might give it a try. I wonder if my Husband could cope with this idea!!! It would be a much better idea for our French home, as we have a Fosse Septique. Then I wouldn’t have to worry about the paper going down it.
The other thing I was wondering is if there was some sort of way I could filter the water coming out of the dishwasher and washing machine. I suppose if the water went into a catchment tank, and then went through a sort of sand filter before going into the drain it could catch a lot of crap before it gets into the water system. If the filter was replaceable it might be possible to just burn the sand perhaps make some kind of glass with it afterwards.
I think too much!
Ha! I suggested the idea of using flannels in the loo in France so we didn’t put paper down the loo.
I said that would save me having to clean the filter. My Husband turned around and said, well it only needs doing every couple of years!
I said well, He could empty the filter from now on, I do it every three months, We aren’t there to need doing it every month.
Right, you can be sure if He has to clean muck off the filter He will change his mind PDQ!
What planet do these Men live on?!
