I had been admitted on that occasion, (I think it was that occasion) because I was having a horrible 'stuck'. I was standing on the Moon (Starkers) wearing a pair of furry moon boots. I was watching the Earth, and it dissapeared and then reappeared. It looked like a Plasma screen image on my laptop where when you poke it with your finger it ripples. I distincly saw the ripple go across where the big tsunami happened across Asia a couple of years later.
I had to get myself admitted, and on this occasion it was realy difficult. I remember standing in the emergency department trying to convince the doctor I was totally off my head. Finally I looked at him and said, "A thousand fall by my side, ten thousand at my right hand". The look on the guy's face was a picture and I was in St Saviours within about half an hour. Thank goodness some people know their Bible. (Psalm 91 v 7). I was also having a freak about the universe being holographic.
I was just watching a very good interview on Russia today about news reporting on War. It occured to me that if people realy like having a good game of war, why not make it paintball. I have played paintball and it's fun. You have rules, and observers and referees.
I was good at sneaking about, must have learned to do this playing Cowboys and Indians as a child. I liked being an Indian, because The last of the Mohecans was a favorite book. My grandmother had a beautiful book of photographs of all the different Indian tribes.
I loved to see the different tribal costumes and we looked at it together and talked about The Peoples. My grandmother paid for a book club subscription for me. I realise now how much this cost her as they were elderly and had little money. A lot of love though. Granny would say to me, come and sit on Granny's table. (That meant get on her lap for a cuddle).
If you get hit it hurts, and when you get paint on you, you are out of the game. I realise that making weapons is huge business, but so is paintball. There are fantastic terrains for doing paintball in, and provided the paint is non toxic and biodegradable it doesn't harm the environment. I suppose people would want to gamble on this. I like a flutter occasionally, but I also think online gaming should have far tighter control.
One guy I was in hospital with was in debt for over £4,000.00 because he gambled the £400 he had saved up for his children's christmas presents. He wanted to buy them bikes for christmas and still didn't have enough money. He told me this while we were playing Poker for a Pizza. We just all stump up what we can afford and then share it out to start the game, well we did that evening. Then we played Poker. I won scandalously! Then we sent out for Pizza.
How many more Mothers have to lose their children? It is a tribute to all Mothers and Children who have suffered, but with a different education, where hatred and long held animosity is not taught to the next generation perhaps things will change?
If people don't buy weapons of mass (or any) destruction, there is no point in making them.
Just a thought.
