If so I would prefer to see M.Macron as President. However I don't think it's in the UK's interests during the upcoming divorce negotiations.
If things had not got so bad negotiating with the EU, the prospect of Turkey joining an ever expanding Ponzi scheme, and Germany dominating the EU economic model, not to mention the Schengen Agreement obviously being flawed, I don't think the Brexit Brigade would have won the referendum by a very small sliver of election cake. There was not even enough room to put a candle on the sliver of majority in that stupidly run referendum.
The British referendum was run on immigration, which is not the problem the old cogers who draw a pension think it is. The clause in the EU legislation about only staying for three months if you don't have a job, or private means of support would have been enough to make sure entrants to the UK were not coming to work here illegally.
Our referendum turned into a divisive hateful rhetoric fuelled bonfire of British values. So did the last American election by the look of it.
If politics weren't a dirty rotten business before, then they have become a cesspool of festering excrement, with the worst detritus floating to the top in the most recent years. Especially many of those British politicians who stood for the UK leaving the EU. The scum were just preventing the real issues to penetrate the minds of the public, so an informed debate, and choice could be made.
I believe the British public were conned. Scotland, and Northern Ireland voted to stay in the EU. Perhaps they have better education! The first thing a government does to stop an informed electorate, is to cut funding to education. Certainly where Schools might put current affairs on their curriculum.
I am hoping that the UK will vote Lib-Dem as a change of mind over leaving the EU. They may not make a brilliant government, but at least the damage done by the Conservatives in steering the country towards self immolation might be reversed.
