The French do have a state of emergency and want to do extra checks, but they are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers wanting to travel to France for their summer holidays.
I wonder if some are now wondering if this is a sign that the EU doesn't want free movement of people from the UK!
The Eurotunnel also had delays as a group of about 100 migrants tried to get through the tunnel last night.
At this rate we may as well forget border controls and brick up each end of the tunnel until the Brexit negotiations are over. That might alleviate the problem at Calais where the French have such a problem with migrants trying to get through the tunnel.
The UK will be thinking of staycations even more after this fiasco. That will boost our tourism economy.
I wonder what the tail back is like on the French side of the tunnel.
what a dreadful start to the summer holidays for all those traveling via Dover.
