I wonder where they think they will put it now?
Now is the time for everyone to wake up, and use their voice to object to big business destroying our world, our livelihoods, and our way of life.
I am a landlord for a couple, their teenage son and a young baby. My lease says I must give them enjoyment of the property, and not cause them undue harassment or hindereance to enjoy their tenure. It is part of Jersey law.
I decided recently the windows needed upgrading. They are such lovely people, and look after my property so well, it is a pleasure to contemplate spending the money. They deserve it. They respect my property. So I guess de facto it is their attitude to respect me as their Landlord.
Their oven broke a few months back, and I really enjoyed buying a fabulous new oven, as I know the Mum loves cooking and making cakes. She wants to bake us a special cake, but as we don't eat sugary sweet things that is wasted on us. I may ask for a dark chocolate cake for my husbands birthday next year though.
I could be like other people and say I won't do anything until the windows are rotten. I will do this in stages to spread the cost and disruption, but I know it will keep them warmer in winter, and cost them less in heating bills.
When people respect each other, it is a wonderful thing. It doesn't matter if it's a few new windows with double glazing, which I wanted to do a number of years ago anyway, but the Jersey planning laws said I had to keep the original timber windows when I did a little work on this flat.
Silly, this has cost me money, and left these people with draughty windows.
The point is that people have to enjoy the tenure of their property, if it is leasehold, or freehold.
Another thing I strongly disagree with is that in many countries, you buy the freehold of your property, but the government owns the rights to anything under it. This means they can sell drilling rights or fracking rights right under your property. It is just wrong. WRONG! God owns the planet!
We only live on this planet for a short time, but our offspring inherit our mistakes and our good judgement. We don't have children any but I want other people's to have a beautiful world.
We have many decisions and battles to win against vast companies just profiteering over our right to a peaceful world. We need to protest peacefully. Passive striking, and withholding of work for companies who just don't listen, and make it right and give justice and respect for everyday people is a good start. I am not militant, but they won't be able to computerise everything. They still need people who lay pipe work, fix the electrics, and lay the cables for networks.
We also have the power to use our buying 'voice'. I refuse to buy winter wheat, and bread made from it. I buy French flour and make my own bread. I also buy Khorasan flour. Expensive, but full of selenium.
The next big big companies to question are Monsanto and similar. I will not use the type of wheat, or buy made products because I want to know the provenance and ingredients of my food. What I eat keeps me well. If it were proven there is a link to the modern day obesity problems and winter wheat that would be a bombshell. It is fine for animals but not humans.
I am rambling a bit as usual.
Lets use the power we do have to combat the corruption and indifference this world has bred while we were asleep.
United, we can combat corruption, self interest from the wealthy indifferent companies and powers of this world. When enough people join in one voice we can move the planet! Let's get to work and make more good stuff happen.
God bless you for visiting my little website and reading my posts. May your life matter, and make the difference, just like all the people standing against this Pipeline and winning a landslide change of direction.
Lets not get driven by propaganda against other people. Their race or religion. The papers and media fuel our fears, which turn to the wrong actions. I am a Christian, but I wouldn't have a problem inviting Jewish or Moslem friends to my house. If they want to come, they have to tell me what to cook, but that's OK.
We have a vegan coming to stay with us for six days in a weeks time, that gives me more of a headache! I am not sure how to plan menus at all, especially because I don't have an itinerary. She is a musician and coming with a non vegan. HELP!
I suppose I could wipe all my work surfaces and cooking pots over with vodka. Thank god for the Russians. There is an answer to everything with vodka!
