Its broken. The backplate was all lose and the screw mounting inside the iron is broken. Not to be outdone I have stuck it back together with some sticky tape to use now. I will have to buy a new iron.
Dropped and not mentioned obviously... asked the Esteemed Husband, Oh Yes was the reply! Conveniently forgotten then! I am not complaining about it, at least it proves he can and did iron his own shirts last time!
However I noticed the Ralph Lauren shirt he was given for His birthday last year has a lable in it saying it was made in Sri Lanka. That’s daft I thought I assume this quality fabric is woven in Italy, it’s gorgeous, and a joy to look after.
Why on Earth aren’t Italy training the Migrants to make these beautiful shirts? Why send the fabric off to Sri Lanka, not that I have any issue with the quality of the workmanship or that the people there are making them, but why not have the factories in Italy, pay the new workforce decent wages, get some tax revenue, and not have to pay transport costs, and trade tariffs.
Seems Mad to me not to make these beautiful shirts in Italy!
