I have definately dropped out of hypermanic drive for now! I slept and rested most of yesterday afternoon. I woke up later this morning. I feel less worried about the World. People seem to be talking about real issues, and doing something about them.
I want to fix that bit of damage to my Globe I did on Yemen. I was spraying their Neighbours but the water must have steered off and peeled this bit of map off. The wooden base the globe sits on has warped too!
God says a lot of the problems in this area are over water. He says If I use my Iconography paints. Put Gesso on the broken bits, and paint them He can do a lot of repairs. He suggested I painted in a lake or three in Saudi Arabia, and a few smaller lakes and ponds in Yemen.
This is seems like a good idea, but I will need to check the Topography. I will have to try to find some geological maps on the Internet. Lakes are better if there are already depressions and mountains. I suppose I could be a bit sneaky and build up some mountains with the Gesso to create the lakes.
God says think bigger, put some Forrest’s in as well! Perhaps they would like to swap some of their sand for good topsoil! They will need it quite deep for decent trees!
Good Plan... they will, just have to be nice to their neighbours and stop killing them. Come to some deal over using their ports, and spend some money on their infrastructure to repair it! And get the hell out of everyone’s politics... and stop being so protectionist over Mecca!
Beautiful lakes, snowy mountains, wonderful geological discoveries, and some stunning antiquities. Apparently that Rub Al Khali Desert has stunning potential.
My House is nice and clean, and I am rested. I wonder if I need to make Gesso from scratch, If I even have the ingredients, I might have some in a pot I bought. I can use that, and get into the Gesso making later. I want to start Icon Painting again. Heck What about making this scruffy old Globe an actual topographical Project, that would be fun!
Well the first thing is to have a go at mending the Yemen bit, and having some fun with that desert.
Hope everyone else has a great project lined up for today. God says this is not a Silver lining project, it’s a Gold Leaf Project. That means I will have to break out the Gold Leaf and bole as well. I can paint on Gold it’s OK. Just rub a garlic clove over the Gold Leaf and let it dry then the paint sticks.
My St George Icon is completely painted on Gold Leaf. I was supposed to learn Sgraffito but I hadn’t realised it at the time, or found out how it was done. Life is all about learning things, and then relearning better ways of doing them.
May God protect, and keep very safe all the people in war zones right now. Just protect us from ourselves Lord. Let Jesus into every situation to bring Peace.
Having had a Logistical discussion with Big G, it might be possible to do this map repair on vellum. Trace everything exactly, do all the stuff on Vellum, then replace sections of this Globe as I get bits of it done. If I do it in fairly small sections, the curvature shouldn’t make the paint and gold crack.
I suppose it will be a great project, and look rather spectacular on my Icon Table. This is going to be a work in progress job for a couple of years. Roll on rainy days!
Even better plan... do a temporary fix on the bit I washed off, then carefully take off each square, trace it and copy it onto the Vellum and use it as a template to copy, then stick the new square on when it’s done! I can terraform to my hearts content for the duration apparently!
