There was also an articulate about the manipulation of the choices of rodents by stimulating neuropthways. I made a few comments in my usual state of polyphenol induced verbosity.
Still, intoxication is not a crime as long as I am not driving a car in my neck of the woods.
However two things have struck me this last moment. The first is the sense that this is a defining moment in history, and the second a reminder about my teeth.
Why teeth you might ask.
As a child all the fillings I had done were not aligned with my 'bite'. It was never considered I suppose during those years. I reached the age of about Thirty Two with a dreadful neck ache, neuralgia, and constantly having fillings replaced that cost a fortune. I was told by one dentist that as I had no children I was grinding my teeth.
Well it turns out this was a load of proverbial b******t, and the real problem was that as each tooth was filled, it pushed my lower jaw forward. Imperceptibly at the time, but the cumulative effect left me with a bite that was not lateral. Any movement of my jaw was up and down, not side to side.
I remember the weeks I spent with a very concerned and excellent dentist, who decided to liberate my jaw. It involved me grinding my teeth onto a sort of carbon paper that left marks on my teeth so he could release the high spots that stopped me chewing properly.
I also paid for an expensive plastic butterfly brace thing. The first night I used it, it broke in two! My dentist made me a new one, which fitted my whole top teeth free of charge. Sort of super reinforced, because he said if I managed to break the butterfly I had a real problem and would lose my teeth, and eventually lose the control of my tongue.
I remember the process vividly. It took hours, and I was so appreciative that someone would take this much trouble to help me discover, and remediate my problem.
The first problem for me was learning which was left or right! I must have been 32, yet I could not move my lower jaw at will to either left or right. It was just trial and error, and a learning process. Thankfully my dentist was truly giving me his best. After a couple of weeks I got to grips with left and right, but it did take some mental effort.
I must have worn a bite plane for another ten years before I felt I could live without it.
The thing is, this is like Polotics. If you have never known freedom of voting, or a choice of how you will vote, what for exactly, and why you are voting for it, you are not participating in democracy.
If your choice of nominee is so limited that you can only vote for an extreme party or representative, you are not being given a choice, just the lesser of two evils.
If you choose not to vote in a democratic country, be prepared to become a dictatorship.
If you listen to ill informed advice, you will accept ridiculous assumptions. And your vote could be catastrophic if others have followed.
Not all societies prefer a democratic system of government. Even those countries that purport to be democratic seldom truly are. However, I am standing with the Catalans tonight, because when democracy is at its best, it stands against Fascism and extreme liberalism, which amounts to the same end.
My real hope is that just ordinary people like me will become political animals again, and go out to vote. I don't mind what people vote, so long as they vote. The right to vote has cost so many lives, and the right for women to vote has been such a hard battle. Pleas, never say you will not vote.
A small minority may get in power with a small turnout. In a democracy, it is imperative to vote.
