This is no better than using children as a human sheild. What a shameful way to do politics. I would not take up arms, even if someone came to shoot me in my own home. The consequences are too horrible to imagine.
Perhaps the Israeli people themselves will have more sense than their war-mongering government.
As the Palesinians are planning this to be a peace march, why not meet them with refreshments and a meal at the end of their march at the 'red line' and get to know them?
Us Brits like a street party, it's where everyone in the street brings something, and trestle tables are set up with flags, and party streamers and everyone has a sing song to celebrate something. Like a Royal Wedding.
Just get to know the people you are fighting. Once you know them keep in contact, and have another go at having a party together. Find out what it is the people want, not what their leaders tell them they want.
It isn't the man and woman in the street in Palestine that can't get a government together, it's their government not dealing with their own factions and infighting.
I think we all want safe homes, and safe neighbourhoods. Good utilities. We want good schools for our children, good access to affordable medical help. I also think most people want to be a good citizens, and offer their time and effort to building society around them. We need stable economies, and jobs that make sense of our gifts and creativity, in whatever that form manifests itself.
I was really happy being a Hairdresser, now I haven't a clue what to do. I could not get a job even if I wanted one. I don't have recognised qualifications in any areas that I might get a job, and I am over qualified to get a job that doesn't need qualifications. I can't stand cleaning, so even if cleaners do get £12 per hour or more, I would be terrible at it, so even I wouldn't employ myself for that. All anyone needs is a little niche in a bigger society.
You know, it was the people themselves that tore down the Berlin Wall. Lets pray that all the people of a once beautiful land realise the opportunity they could share together. Israel has so much it could offer the Palestinians, and if everyone living in an undivided country, has equal opportunities and rights, there is a whole lot of land to share together.
A government that does not represent the wishes of it's people is a dictatorship.
