My Husband was out last night to a 41 Club meeting. I love to hear how the Men are getting on when He gets home. I have fond memories of His Round Table days. Indelibly ether in my memory are the Christmas Pantomimes they put on for Charity Ball. Yes I used to make my own evening dresses, another enjoyable hobby! Seeing My Husaband and others doing a serious ballet sequence from Swan lake one of Life’s Highlights. He made a stunning cygnet!
Anyway after a chat when He got back, He put the TV on to watch Men Men, the US comedy. I half heartedly sat and watched the end of it with Him. I then said it isn’t surprising that us women have lost respect for Men in general. If this is the kind of program that you find funny. Talking about relationships with women in such a way.
He said, but it’s comedy. I said I would rather watch a re-run of the Young Ones. Young people will watch this program and think this is normal behaviour for Men. Normal attitudes for Men to have towards women. It isn’t funny to me. In fact I find it insulting to me as a woman, and insulting to Men, making them to seem purile and of no consequence.
I would rather watch the Handsomely Mature Michael Portillo in His interesting colour combinations taking train Journeys. I so enjoyed seeing Georgia, and Azerbaijan in the most recent episode. It inspires me to want to visit myself. I enjoy the Gerald Durrell series. The excellent period drama recently of the French King building his Garden. This was stunning television. So was Blue Planet... and the Young ones!
For instance Open all Hours, Michael Crawford doing slapstick with Betty. Who would have known Michal Crawford had such a wonderful voice for Phantom of the Opera?
Yes it is fun to see the idocy of youthful folly, but not to promote a warped view of the relationships between Men and Women, or to undermine the Human Spirit, or the actual finest work of God’s Creation. For Adam was made in the image of God. Adam means Humanity, not just a name for one person. Adama means Earth. And God made Adam from the dust of the Earth. God made Adam both Male and Female.
I don’t want to watch television that portrays Adam, both Male and Female, portrayed in any way that is disrespectful, either to the Human race, or to God.
Unquestionably in my mind has the Movie Genre glorified war. The video gaming industry promoted and trained people to accept war, and violence in society. It is not a pastime. I suspect the gaming has some purpose in developing weapons. In developing human interface with drones.
I have no problem with the 3 D reality technology. This May our Jersey Heritage are launching a virtual reality tour of La Cotte Caves. One of the most important Neolithic sites in Northern Europe. The caves would be to fragile to actually go into for the general public, but they have been mapped. Now I will be able to go and see them myself in Virtual reality.
Bitcoin seems to have been tainted with Pornography, and other nefarious code. So the value of Bitcoin is based on pornography exchange by the sound of it.
However I think the BBC are in some ways redeeming themselves. I have taken a lot of enjoyment from the little video snips, showing real people overcoming great difficulties in their lives. I can’t say that the news is well presented. There are longer informative articles which are quite good. I still level at them they are not an independent news channel. They portrayed the exodus from Ghouta as though it was the Syrian Army that caused these people to have to leave Ghouta, when in fact Ghouta was liberated, and the thousands of people leaving had been in fear of their lives from the rebels holding Ghouta. Those were liberated people. To twist the news so blatantly is unforgivable.
The BBC has not given an unbiased account of events in the News.
