Well this is probably one of my General rambles.
Where there is an onus on the employee to build a client base that covers their wages, and the tax, and social security payments a small business must make it can act as an incentive to put the employee on a Zero hour contract for six months during their probation, and motivation to work for an employer. I suppose this would transfer to any business. It is very difficult to see people with a genuine motivation to develop their career, when the attitude of 'you owe me' is inherent in the nature of the workforce.
I got a buzz out of swing my staff develop themselves. Thankfully they did, as I would not be able to retire when I did. My Staff bought me out when I could no longer work. I hurt myself badly in an accident and hurt my back. Now these wonderful people 'have my back', so I try to have theirs!
I think there needs to be an element of generosity in employers. There needs to be a real sense that in looking after the people who work with you for common goals get rewards. Sadly the governments don't see this. They don't seem to realise businesses are made out of individuals. There has become an impersonal, statistical, accountant driven, lack of concern over the people who work, need to live, raise children, and have a good home life balance.
I still think the concept of getting people working through 25 hour week minimum contracts that entitle the employee to a full pension is sound. This way couples who have children can be supported to continue with careers, and even work overtime where their family commitments allow.
This also works well for careers. Some people give up work to look after elderly parents and relatives, but the due to a gap in employment find it difficult to return to work. Why not pay the careers allowance, and allow these people to continue working part time, both for their own moral, and to pay into social security for their own retirement.
Anyway enough. I have spoken about this before.
Well Banksy has opened an Hotel in Bethlehem. Overlooking that wall! He must have designs on it, at least in mind. I wonder if the Israelis plan to wash the art off the walls once it's done! I did think it would be a Banksy dream come true building more wall!
Perhaps If I ever go there, I would see if we could afford to stay there. Art is so powerful. Banksy is a genius, and The odd photos I have seen of his statements are inspiring, questioning our viewpoint, and changing perceptions. A great place, and a great idea.
I hope the Irish elections go well. I am thinking of them. There was an article on RT describing how similar the situation in Ireland was, and comparing it to the Israel-Palestine situation.
I watched a Ed a documentary on TV last night about the Genocide of the Jews in Europe. So unimaginably sad that ordinary people had such hatred for Jewish people that they shot Jewish people in the thousands for the Germans, and some interviewed still do not show remorse.
I began to understand more how this scarred psyche of the Jewish people drives this hatred of others. It is a founded xenophobia. However they will have to pass through this chasm of destruction, as the psalmist says, 'Lo, you guide me through the valley of death and I shall fear no evil'.
There is a point that one must move through the valley of death. Pass through it and move into new pastures that God spreads before the broken hearted, the dispossessed, the bitter anger of loss. God was there. God was there. Every one of those murdered people belong to Him alone.
God knows each one by name. They are with him in Glory as His Eternal companions. We can never understand why people are lost in this way.
Genocide and Ethnic cleansing are still with us today. Until this stops God will withhold his Face from us. There will never be a blessing for this broken world while we do not hear God imploring us to protect our children, widows, sick, elderly and poor.
I pray we all have a broken-hearted sense of our wrongdoing. I pray we decide to change, and to make the Words that God gave us in His Holy Bible our own words and actions.
Most of all it is our actions that single us out as people of God. May the words of our mouths, and the inclination of our hearts be turned to You, Lord most High.
